Good News Friday ??- YAP’s Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions came together in Atlantic City, N.J. for their annual retreat in September to connect, learn from one another and to share ideas on how they can better support the families and youth they serve. The Mid-Atlantic region includes Washington, D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Philadelphia. The Southeast region includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. YAP is a national nonprofit it 34 states and Washington, DC. that partners with youth justice, child welfare, behavioral health, education, public safety, and other systems to deliver community-based alternatives to youth incarceration, residential care, and neighborhood violence. Good News Friday ??- YAP’s Dallas Cred team partnered with several organizations for the SAFE State Fair Texas Initiative, which helps to provide safety and security measures to keep attendees safe. Dallas Cred shared resources and helped monitor youth when students from the Dallas Independent School District attended the Texas State Fair in October. While Dallas Cred was there, no fights broke out. Dallas Cred launched in 2021 and focuses on identifying and supporting individuals who are at the highest risk levels of being engaged in violence.
