Gastropub located inside the historic Nassau Inn! At tables parked invitingly close to the fireplace or out on the bustling patio overlooking Palmer Square, guests savor modern American gastropub cuisine complemented by 19 craft beers on tap, an excellent wine list and signature seasonal libations. The inscription carved into the wood beam above the Yankee Doodle Tap Room’s massive stone hearth dates back to 1756, when the English pub-style tavern welcomed its very first guests: "Rest Traveller, Rest, and Banish Thoughts of Care; Drink to Thy Friends and Recommend Them Here." This benediction of warmth and friendliness has kept our legendary restaurant among Princeton’s most popular gathering spots. Amidst a 13-foot-wide original Norman Rockwell mural and solid oak booths and tabletops bearing names carved by notable Princeton University figures like "Dr. Einstein," visitors and guests convene for everything from casual breakfast meetings to relaxing bus tour lunches and intimate couple’s night dinners. In addition to sports on six HD TVs, the Yankee Doodle Tap Room hosts seasonal craft beer tastings, live musical performances and other special events.
