A long history of innovation and helping businesses solve their greatest challenges? Sounds familiar! Thanks for being a part of our history, Wajax.
Did you know the Wajax name dates back to 1925? In 1858, B.J. Coghlin opened a small blacksmith shop in Montreal, growing from carriage springs to railcar components, establishing a presence in the city’s industrial scene. By 1954, the business expanded by acquiring Watson Jack & Co., a supplier of metals, chemical boilers, and electrical supplies. The name Wajax officially emerged in 1959, inspired by J.C. Watson Jack’s leadership, but first appeared in 1925 on the innovative portable pump, ‘The Wajax’—some of which remain in our branches today, linking us to our roots.
