Smilow Cancer Hospital at Waterford hosted an open house recently to welcome to the area Ellie Proussaloglou, MD, an assistant professor of Breast Surgical Oncology at Yale School of Medicine who is now caring for patients at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Proussaloglou treats patients who require surgery for breast cancer, while also providing counseling and surgical management for benign disease. She also works with her colleagues at Smilow and across Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine to guide patients who are at high risk for breast cancer, helping ensure they receive the testing and screenings most appropriate for their individual needs. Yale New Haven Hospital Transplantation Center celebrated living organ donors from the past 10 years at a Sept. 26 event in Branford. The nearly 160 attendees, which included about 60 donors, also included staff, physicians and many recipients who joined their donors.
