Yale New Haven Children's Hospital sends a heartfelt thank you to former Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) moms who came together to assemble and deliver 54 gift bags to current NICU families in recognition of World Prematurity Awareness Day. Former families, staff and loved ones donated items that they personally loved having during their NICU journey or wished they had. The first minimally invasive tricuspid valve repair to treat severe valve regurgitation was performed in Connecticut by Heart and Vascular Center physicians at Yale New Haven Hospital. With this procedure, a clip is attached to the heart’s tricuspid valve. The procedure was led by Yale Medicine physicians (pictured from left) Amit Vora, MD, director of Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies; and Sam Reinhardt, MD, director of Interventional Echocardiology. It marked the first in the state since the clinical trial for this therapy concluded. Yale Medicine physicians participated in the clinical trial that led to this treatment’s FDA approval. https://ynh.care/nx
