As a runner, boxer, cross trainer and coach, Dean Festa tells all his students at the Whaling City Athletic Club in New London that physical fitness offers a path to wellness, including mental heath. Festa called on all his own physical and mental strength when he faced prostate cancer, including undergoing surgery at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with Joseph Brito, MD, a urologist at L+M and associate professor of Urology with Yale School of Medicine. Today, Festa is healthy and back in the gym, but with an additional message for men: get a blood test for prostate cancer. It’s simple, Festa says, and, as Dr. Brito explains, prostate cancer often has no symptoms; early detection offers the best chance for a positive outcome. Read the full story: https://ynh.care/oW.
