The first minimally invasive tricuspid valve repair to treat severe valve regurgitation was performed in Connecticut by Heart and Vascular Center physicians at Yale New Haven Hospital. With this procedure, a clip is attached to the heart’s tricuspid valve. The procedure was led by Yale Medicine physicians (pictured from left) Amit Vora, MD, director of Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies; and Sam Reinhardt, MD, director of Interventional Echocardiology. It marked the first in the state since the clinical trial for this therapy concluded. Yale Medicine physicians participated in the clinical trial that led to this treatment’s FDA approval. https://ynh.care/ny
