Recently, while doing a pack-out for a child waiting at the DCS office, we learned it was her 16th birthday. That gave us the opportunity to do something extra—putting together a special birthday basket just for her, filled with things that matched her interests, along with the clothing and hygiene essentials she needed. Every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated, especially on their birthday. This week, we had the privilege of stocking the brand-new YAI Patriot Pantry at Lincoln Homes—and the excitement was immediate! As soon as we arrived, neighbors rushed over to help stock the shelves, eager to be part of something that will make a difference right in their own community. The gratitude was overwhelming. Many shared how much this pantry will mean to them and their families—a simple yet powerful way to Be the Hope for those in need. For those in need of support, additional YAI Patriot Pantries are available at Summit Heights and YAIPAK, as well as Fort Campbell to serve our military families. Despite the devastation, she remains in great spirits—even after having to be rescued from her home. The lower level of her split-level house is a complete loss, and while she has a safe place to stay for now, she knows the road to recovery will be long. Once the waters recede, she will need helping hands to begin rebuilding. If you're looking for a way to serve, stay tuned for ways to support flood victims like Candace. Meet Mr. and Mrs. Love: They recently shopped for their four foster children. Since 2016, this incredible couple has fostered approximately 20 children, and they shared their hope of adopting all four of their current foster children soon. Although they were unable to have children of their own, they believe the Lord guided them to this path. Both Mr. and Mrs. Love are retired military and are currently pursuing their PhDs, focusing on supporting foster children as they transition into society. Their dedication to ensuring these children thrive is nothing short of inspiring. YAIPAK has been honored to serve this amazing family for three years, and they were part of our Jolly Merry Christmas event this year. Mrs. Love was brought to tears as she spoke about her experience with us, sharing that we’ve created something “second to none.” She praised our extraordinary volunteers for being friendly, caring, and welcoming. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Love, for your service, your dedication to fostering, and for letting us be part of your journey.
