The importance of SAP Equipment Master Data in a Turnaround SAP Master Data is the foundation of Enterprise Asset Management EAM, yet most STO companies pay minimal attention to the Master Data that makes up the vast majority of any Shutdown or Turnaround. Considering a major turnaround can consume 3 or 4 years worth of routine maintenance annual budget, you simply cannot afford to ignore it. Additionally, most SAP EAM implementations focus on routine and corrective maintenance and tend to defer Turnaround deployments to a future date. In our experience the root of this problem is that turnaround management leaders see themselves as project and not maintenance managers. This means capturing cost and technical history at the equipment level.
