The European Standards and Interoperability Alliance (ESIA) was founded last week in Brussels, with the mission to support the deployment of the European Health Data Space (#EHDS) by operating a standards hub for #interoperability specifications, and by advancing awareness and global alignment. ?? ?? ?? Our goal is to develop, with our standards hub, an indispensable one-stop-shop for interoperability specifications related to the European Electronic Heath Record Exchange Format (#EEHRxF), to support the #MemberStates and regions in their implementation of the #EHDSregulation. It is very rewarding to see that two worlds which used to be disconnected are beginning to speak together. A business continuity between primary and secondary use is key to create real value. Starting with value for the patient/citizen himself. Having eHealth, Health Data, Public Health and Medicinal Products agencies speaking and working together and sharing the responsibility to create quality, security and fluidity in the health system is essential for the #EHDS success.

The Regulation on European Health Data Space is published! #EHDS will provide a comprehensive framework for the access to and use of electronic health data across Member States. It will enhance #innovation and #competitiveness in the health sector for the benefit of all EU citizens. The EHDS benefits are: #Empowering citizens, giving them better control over their personal health data and enabling seamless access to their medical records across the EU, whenever and wherever they need healthcare (primary use). Strengthening the re-use of #health #data in anonymised or pseudonymised form, for research, innovation, public health, and policymaking, with safeguards fully in line with EU data protection and cybersecurity standards (secondary use). DNV is involved in this in several ways: As a partner in xShare project: https://xshare-project.eu/ A three-year Horizon Europe project envisioning everyone sharing their health data in European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF), with a click-of-a-button. [??EHTEL joint statement] Today 39 representatives of the EU health community welcome the publication of the #EHDS?Regulation?in the Official Journal of the EU and launch?a set of recommendations. ?? Together, we call on policymakers to guarantee an actionable process for involvement of a variety of voices in this new #healthdata ecosystem. A collaborative approach?will foster trust and contribute to the acceptance, effectiveness, and rapid adoption of EHDS initiatives. ???
