Hear their views from the Children’s AI Summit Yesterday our film captured at last week’s Children’s AI Summit had its debut screening in Paris, ahead of the Paris AI Action Summit.?It explores key thoughts and ideas from some of the 150 children?who attended the event. It was shown at the Global AI Forum on Children, Education, Youth and Wellbeing with Common Sense Media, the LEGO Group and the NSPCC. Mhairi Aitken from the Turing’s Children and AI team joined a panel with NSPCC’s CEO Chris Sherwood and young people from the Voice of the Youth Online to discuss how generative AI is reshaping youth experiences and development. We often discuss how to guide the use of #digitaltechnologies to safeguard young generations. However, establishing responsible and safe digital solutions should not be a monologue from #policymakers, but, as we know at XRSI Child Safety Initiative, young individuals should be included in the conversation to share their perspectives, needs and expectations. ?? As the authors at Common Sense Media write about the following report: "To what extent does #generativeAI influence the #trust that teens have in the information that underpins how we interact and understand our world and ourselves?" The attached document analyzes the specific ways in which genAI influences youngsters' trust in content and platforms. Last week Australia voted to BAN SOCIAL MEDIA for kids under 16 years old. Here at Unanimous AI, we wondered what Americans think about this... So we brought together 105 randomly selected American adults and had them form a real-time Collective Superintelligence in our Thinkscape platform. The system allowed all 105 people to debate the issue conversationally (in real-time) and converge on insights that maximize collective conviction. The video below shows the output of that 105 person conversation. Personally, I was surprised by the result and the strength of the conviction. We are continually innovating and evolving our safety systems—we’ve already released more than 30 improvements this year. This morning, we released significant updates to our safety controls and I’m very excited to share them with you. We’ve dramatically improved our parental controls, changed how users under age 13 can communicate on Roblox and the type of content they can access, and added new content labels. These changes were developed and implemented after extensive internal research, including interviews and surveys with parents and kids, and consultation with experts from child safety and media literacy organizations.
