Securing Healthcare Data in the Age of AI: Key Takeaways from HIMSS 2025 Recently wrapped up an incredible week at HIMSS 2025 in Las Vegas, where I had the opportunity to present for XQ on the AWS HIMSS stage: “Zero Trust Data Sovereignty to Safeguard Patient Data Across Borders.” The conversations we had at the event made one thing crystal clear—healthcare organizations are more concerned than ever about securing patient data, especially as AI adoption accelerates. Here are the top trends we discussed: ? 3rd Party Data Access & Zero Trust – Healthcare providers and payers are looking for ways to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data, especially as ecosystems become more interconnected. XQ’s data-centric security model ensures that only authorized entities—whether people or machines—can access data, no matter where it resides. ? Secure Data Movement from Edge to Cloud – With the explosion of edge-connected medical devices, ensuring secure, real-time data transmission to the cloud is a top priority.
