?? Luck Around the World! ??? As we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, let's explore how different cultures define luck! From symbols to traditions, here’s how people bring good fortune in some of the destinations we travel to: Mexico – On New Year's Eve, some Mexicans sweep their homes to clear out bad energy and welcome good luck for the year ahead. Many also place 12 grapes in their glass at midnight, making a wish for each one! ?? France – Spotting a hunchback or a chimney sweep is considered lucky in France! And don’t forget the Galette des Rois on Epiphany—whoever finds the hidden charm in their cake is crowned king or queen for the day. ?? Germany – Good luck comes in the form of pigs (Glücksschwein), four-leaf clovers, and toadstool mushrooms (Glückspilz)! Germans also give little marzipan pigs as gifts for good fortune. ???? Italy – The number 13 is considered lucky in Italy, bringing prosperity and life! Many Italians also believe touching iron ("tocca ferro") wards off bad luck—similar to knocking on wood. ??? Spain – To attract luck, Spaniards often carry a rabbit’s foot or wear red underwear on New Year's Eve! And if you accidentally step in dog poop with your left foot—congratulations, that's lucky! ???? Costa Rica – Saying “Pura Vida” isn’t just a greeting—it’s a way of life that brings positivity and good fortune. Many Costa Ricans also wear red bracelets to protect against bad luck. ??
