    last week got chance to moderate a panel with two outstanding ???? Olympians on what it means to embrace the “athlete mindset.” Masai Russell, 2024 US Olympic gold medalist in 100 m hurdles and Conner Mantz, Olympic Marathoner and arguably the best American distance runner currently Masai dropped a quote that really stuck with me “every flower in the garden doesn’t bloom at the same time” and how as an athlete it is vital to have patience while at the same time being focused and diligent as you wait for your chance to come to fruition Conner talked about embracing the pressure of chasing greatness. Finding ways to be comfortable while not being complacent as you keep pushing to new heights a lot we can learn from high level athletes not just physically but how they approach mentally and emotionally the sport too

    Brain plasticity exists throughout the lifespan, but as we age, the stimulus required for plasticity becomes increasingly significant. You can change the neurochemical milieu, but technologies that leverage electrical stimulation are the big guns for rapid and massive brain changes. Ultrasound-based stimulation is also turning out to be very interesting, alongside transcranial magnetic stimulation. These methods ultimately work by manipulating the electrical activity of neurons to induce circuit changes. This underscores the importance of staying cognitively engaged to preserve our current level of cognitive function—much like physical exercise is necessary to maintain overall health and fitness. Brain health and longevity cannot be a passive process.

    GET YOUR BLOODWORK DONE -This is the FIRST thing you should do on your health and fitness journey, it’s a non-negotiable for ALL my clients -You DO NOT need to go through your doctor to make it happen, you CAN order your own panel -DO NOT rely on your doctor, they'll order some bs meager ass panel with just a BMP/CMP and Chem 10 and call it a day and not even know how to interpret it properly -Get a proper comprehensive panel and do it at least once per year (2-3x if you can afford it, RBCs turnover every 120 days) -You have NO CLUE what your health status is without this information, too many think they’re healthy but they really aren’t -Don’t wait until you’re in your 50s, start as early as your 20s, I wish I had -Do this before you start some random ass diet or shotgun a bunch of supplements you don’t need -TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR OWN HEALTH, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO Bloodwork never lies
