It’s the little things that have the secret power of a superhero to change the life of others as well as yourself. Consider these acts of kindness that you may have experienced yourself. A person let you cut in front of them at the grocery store check-out because you only had a couple of items. Someone waved you into the line of standstill traffic, providing you space to get into the mix. Your friend sent you a silly note or video to make you smile while going through a hard time. For that moment of care, which usually comes with little to no monetary impact, you fill your mind and that of another with empathy. A pattern interrupt, if you will, as a counterweight on the scale in which we measure our experiences each day. At the end of the day, you'll know two things for sure: When you touch a heart, you construct a connection between others that has a lasting impact, even if for just a moment with pure thoughtfulness. You chose not to live that day in the world as it is, but rather as you would like it to be.
