Health equity, AI, and digital health are reshaping global healthcare, but challenges remain. ZS’s latest survey of 9,500 healthcare consumers and 1,359 providers across six countries highlights the growing need for an accessible, equitable, and truly patient-centered healthcare system. Despite the promise of technology, 1 in 4 people avoid care due to hassle and cost. In the U.S., people trust retailers like Walmart over traditional health insurers to act in their best interest. This shift opens doors for new partnerships to deliver accessible, connected care. #HealthEquity #DigitalHealth With AI and connected health, there’s room to ease burdens on providers and improve outcomes, yet only 32% of U.S. PCPs trust AI to enhance care. Building this trust will be crucial for future innovation. But how? See link to original article in the comments below ?? ?? At xCures, we’ve been actively involved in fighting DIPG and DMG. Now, in the face of DIPG’s 5-year survival rate of less than 1%, a breakthrough therapy using GD2-CAR T cells offers a glimmer of hope. This therapy, targeting H3K27M-mutated gliomas, was recently tested in a phase I trial with promising results. Tumor reductions reached up to 100% in some patients, while others experienced marked neurological improvements. This is not just incremental—it’s transformative. By combining intravenous and intracerebroventricular infusions, this approach shows potential to address what’s been an unyielding challenge in pediatric brain cancer. The journey is far from over, but each advance in targeting and treatment methodology brings us closer to a world where DIPG may no longer be a child’s death sentence. The EU’s new AI Act is reshaping healthcare AI with a risk-based approach: high-risk applications, such as diagnostic tools, face strict compliance demands, while others, like wellbeing apps, remain low-risk and minimally regulated. This framework could serve as a reference point for the U.S., where balancing innovation with patient safety remains critical. Yet, the AI Act’s broad application risks overlooking the unique needs of healthcare, creating potential gaps in patient protection and trust. As U.S. healthcare leaders, are we ready to adopt a similar approach? Or should we demand more tailored policies to fit our healthcare landscape?
