In today’s digital landscape, securing sensitive data is more critical than ever. That’s why I’m excited about data masking in Xano! By automatically masking fields marked as sensitive (PII, PHI, passwords, financial details etc.), Xano ensures that confidential data is never exposed in request history logs. Why is this helpful for companies? * Enhanced Security: Protects sensitive data from unauthorized access. * Regulatory Compliance: Helps meet GDPR, CCPA, HiPAA etc… * Operational Efficiency: Frees up developers from manual data sanitization tasks. * Customer Trust: Builds confidence by prioritizing data protection. Safeguarding your Sensitive Data The sensitive data feature offers a robust way to protect your information by concealing it in the request history, which limits exposure to unauthorized individuals. You can further protect your database by enabling RBAC permissions around request history logs to employees/users. By marking a database field as sensitive in Xano, its value is automatically hidden or replaced (e.g., with ***) in request logs. This prevents sensitive data from appearing in logs where it might be improperly accessed. I am very bullish on the new AI development wave, but... I remember when I first tried to learn how to code. For some reason, the first programming language I was introduced to was Java, and getting to the point of querying something from a database felt like rocket science. Now, after working with No-Code for so long, it seems even more complex in hindsight. Xano has made it incredibly simple for people to build APIs with queries, external API calls, complex calculations, and database interactions.
