Artificial Intelligence is reshaping everything – but how did we get here? In Episode Three of the Moonshot Podcast, "Machines That Think – The AI Moonshot," Astro Teller guides us through the origins of Google Brain. Embark on a journey with AI pioneers Andrew Ng and Jeff Dean, whose groundbreaking innovations shattered a decades-long computing block and catapulted deep learning from the academic arena to the commercial prime time. You’ll meet Codey, an AI that writes its own software, and explore how those designing AI’s next generation think about its opportunities and challenges, featuring Scott Huffman, Benoit Schillings, and Olivia Hatalsky. ???? How are today’s AI visionaries shaping the future of innovation? What challenges and opportunities lie ahead? Could AI transform the process of innovation itself? ?? Tune in next Monday to explore the minds defining the next generation of AI. ?? https://lnkd.in/g4za9UxZ

One of the reasons we call ourselves Tapestry is because we weave together the world’s best minds to solve huge, seemingly impossible problems. Today, I’m excited to add another great collaborator to the mix: NVIDIA. Tapestry will be working with NVIDIA to explore new methods for increasing the speed and accuracy of electric grid simulations. My team and I are especially excited about how this collaboration could supercharge solutions for transient simulation. Think of transient simulation as a sophisticated digital stress test grid planners run for the grid. Instead of simply tracking what happens after a power fluctuation, transient simulation allows us to predict and prevent potential problems, before they occur. Imagine being able to simulate how the grid will respond to a sudden surge from a solar farm, or a new factory that comes online —? before it happens. This predictive power is critical to help our century-old grid keep up with an increasingly unpredictable world. At Tapestry, we’re pushing the boundaries of AI-driven insights to better understand grid dynamics, integrate renewables and strengthen grid resilience. I couldn’t be more excited to be collaborating with best-in-class technologists like those at NVIDIA to accelerate real-world solutions. Thanks so much for hosting and a great conversation, Nicholas Thompson! Looking forward to sharing more from this SXSW live recorded episode of The Moonshot Podcast. #SXSW
The most interesting thing in tech: three ideas from a conversation I had this morning for the Moonshot Podcast about innovation and where good ideas come from. 1) Try to help people think more like children or artists when they are coming up with ideas. 2) When building something new, don't do the easy simple thing first. Do the thing that will get you closer to knowing if you can succeed. 3) Let people know failure is OK. It's not just a good idea because it encourages risk taking, but it also helps you learn faster. #sxsw2025
