Some Talent and project highlights from February! Ready to hit the group running in March and make it another Xceptional month. ??

Preventing struck-by injuries requires a comprehensive approach to safety. Always wear appropriate PPE, especially hard hats, as it is your first line of defense against falling objects. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is crucial, as good housekeeping significantly reduces the risk of struck-by incidents. Inspect your tools regularly and use tool tethers to prevent drops. Remember to always lock the wheels on mobile equipment when stationary. Use clear signage, barriers, and floor markings to separate workers from hazard zones and ensure all workers are properly trained to recognize and avoid dangerous areas. Never work under suspended loads, ensure all loads are properly secured during transport, and always use designated walkways when moving around heavy equipment.

We have some new faces here at X3 ?? Please help us welcome Bryan Leon, Kylee Mecham, and Brian Whitworth! Bryan joins our Support Services team with over 8 years of industry experience and a passion for people. Seeing people’s lives change over a great job opportunity pushes him to keep giving his all in his role. His love for people and adventure has taken him worldwide, visiting 28 countries and counting. Kylee comes on board as our new Executive Assistant, bringing a diverse skill set from her background in eCommerce. She’s excited to leverage her skills to help champion the hard work of our Talent. Fun fact: Kylee’s hidden talent is claw machines; once, she almost won $1,000 on a cruise ship claw machine. With 20 years of experience in staffing and consulting, Brian steps into his role as a Workforce Advisor in Colorado with a drive to contribute positively to our team. Though new to construction, his commitment to growth and helping our Talent and clients succeed is undeniable. Outside of work, Brian plays the role of a dedicated Uber driver, ensuring his daughter and her softball teammates get to practices and tournaments across Colorado safely. Let’s talk about one of OSHA’s Fatal Four: Struck-By Hazards. Construction workers face four types of struck-by hazards when on the job: 1?? Flying objects 2?? Falling or dropped objects 3?? Swinging objects 4?? Rolling objects Struck By a Flying Object ?? Being struck by a flying object occurs when items are propelled through the air, often resulting from machinery malfunctions or improper tool use. This can include debris from cutting tools or parts ejected from malfunctioning equipment. Struck By a Falling Object ?? Falling or dropped objects involve tools, materials, or structural components falling from heights. Even seemingly lightweight tools can become deadly when dropped from significant heights. Struck By a Swinging Object ?? Swinging objects typically involve loads moved by cranes or other lifting equipment that may become unstable due to wind or improper securing methods. Struck By a Rolling Object ?? Rolling objects include vehicles, heavy equipment, or materials that move or slide along surfaces in a worker’s path. Unsecured pipes, barrels, or carts can also roll unexpectedly, creating serious hazards.
