??? Fieldwork update from Ireland ?? The #XPRIZECarbonRemoval team recently visited farms in Wexford, Waterford, and Kilkenny to see finalist team Silicate’s innovative approach to enhanced weathering. Silicate is using returned concrete as a unique material for spreading on agricultural soils, replacing traditional options like ag lime. This process accelerates the natural carbon removal cycle by increasing the surface area of calcium and magnesium-rich materials, helping to capture CO2 from the atmosphere. Farmers across Ireland, from small local operations to larger industrial farms, are partnering with Silicate to integrate this cutting-edge solution into their farming practices. By using enhanced weathering, significant carbon removal can be achieved in decades instead of millennia. ?????
