??? Which law journals have been cited in the most court cases (you may be surprised)? Law journals are an important aspect of law schools that affect a variety of different actors. Working on one is a prestigious activity in law school. One of the most important things a law professor can do is to become published in top flight journals. Courts often look to these journals to provide support or to inform their decisions. Washington and Lee University puts out the most widely used law journal ranking. There are various measures that W&L tracks including impact and citations. One of the measures that has some interesting results is cases cited. The following metric is for cases cited between 2019 and 2023. Granted this is captures a wide range of case citations and is not only for one court like the US Supreme Court. While Harvard Law Review perhaps unsurprisingly is the top cited journal, the results are much less predictable below this. There are high numbers of cites for Cardozo Law Review, Notre Dame Law Review, and Belmont Law Review. Yale Law Journal, Columbia Law Review, University of Pennsylvania Law Review, Stanford Law Review, and University of Michigan Law School Law Review are also in the top 10 most cited review but and so is Wyoming Law Review. These metrics should be a source of interest and inspiration for most if not all law students and these numbers should be a useful resource for professors and writers looking to get published (especially for the utility from such a publication. Check out the newly released special issue on #CCUS from the Wyoming Law Review. It includes great work by Tade Oyewunmi, Joe Schremmer, Ryan Haddad, Elisabeth Takeuchi, Andrew Emrich, Keith Hall, Tim Glasgow, and Chris Girouard on innovative topics including under-researched topics like #45Q and CO2 offtake agreements. Thankful, as always, for the University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources Occidental Chair of Energy and Environmental Policies, which positioned me to support students in their preparation of this important contribution. https://lnkd.in/ecFS4buB

Now that I am finishing my last day of law school classes, I though I'd finally share my comment that was published in the Wyoming Law Review this winter about Wyoming water law. https://lnkd.in/ejNdbP4K
