Thank you Sheridan for the warm welcome you have given Salvador so far, including this nice radio interview with longtime WYCF friend and board member, Kim Love! We are excited to have another staff member representing us in the Northeast. https://lnkd.in/gdvimMYd

Connecting people who care to causes that matter to build a better Wyoming.
关于我们
For over 30 years the Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) has connected people who care with causes that matter to build a better Wyoming. WYCF has granted nearly $100 million to charitable causes while also providing a variety of supports to our nonprofit agency fund holders. WYCF serves donors and communities by connecting them to causes they care most about. We make giving easy by accepting a wide-range of gifts, including estates and gifts of stock among others. WYCF is overseen by a volunteer board who ensures your funds are being used to best support Wyoming.

If there is one thing that philanthropic organizations unilaterally rely on, it is the value of community. Whether it's working to make their home communities safer, collaborating with other groups on broader issues, or forming their own around a certain topic, the community is an invaluable resource that serves as the first jumping-off point toward sustainable impact. Chelsee Kucera, Database Specialist at the Wyoming Community Foundation, is particularly fond of the well of information provided to her about Foundant's products by the community of fellow users that she is a part of. Thank you Your Wyoming Link for sharing this new initiative. We are excited to see how Wyomingites leaving a small portion of their assets to nonprofits of their choosing will impact our state for the better for generations to come. As you consider an estate plan or will, we hope you will leave just 5% to nonprofits—that's 95% to family and loved ones. https://lnkd.in/gPAjNwmz

Over the next 10 years, an estimated?$24 billion?will transfer between generations in Wyoming.?The?Wyoming Community Foundation?plans?to empower a new generation of donors. WYCF is launching the?“5 to Thriveinitiative, inspiring Wyoming residents to leave just 5% of their assets to their communities to ensure a lasting legacy for future generations. If Wyoming’s nonprofit organizations can capture a portion of this wealth and build permanent, invested funds, we can?benefit communities today and meet future needs.?? WYCF is calling on all Wyoming residents, nonprofits, and businesses to join the “5 to Thrive†initiative and seize the opportunity for charitable giving to improve our quality of life now and in the future.? You can support those impacted by the Pacific Palisades wildfires through the California Community Foundation's Wildfire Recovery Fund. The organization's Wildfire Recovery Fund targets the most underserved and hard to reach communities in the region, with the goal of helping provide long-term recovery relief. https://lnkd.in/gPY-uGU3

We know?you’ve?got a lot on your plate as the end of the year approaches. Even if charitable giving does not?appear on the surface to be?a burning issue in client meetings,?it’s?still crucial that you keep in mind a few essential charitable giving techniques because your clients?do?care. ?Encourage clients to consider giving highly-appreciated stock, not cash, to their funds at the community foundation, thereby maximizing tax benefits.? ?Help clients evaluate a “bundling†or “bunching†technique to make gifts to donor-advised funds at the community foundation, exceeding the currently high standard deduction to be able to itemize. Then, donor-advised fund assets can be used over the next few years to support clients’ favorite charities. ?Help clients who are 70 ? and older make Qualified Charitable Distributions (“QCDsâ€) directly from IRAs to designated or field-of-interest funds (donor-advised funds are ineligible recipients) at the community foundation–up to $105,000 per spouse. Plus, QCDs satisfy RMDs! If it feels like more clients are asking about giving techniques such as crowdfunding, using appreciated stock to support charities, and setting up donor-advised funds, you are not imagining it. These trends are real! It’s smart to stay up-to-date at a high level so that you’re generally aware of what’s going on with philanthropy. Beyond that, the only information you need is the Wyoming Community Foundation’s phone number. Our team is here for you! We are honored to be your first call anytime a client mentions that they’d like to launch or update a charitable giving plan. In most cases, WYCF can provide tools and services that will help your client achieve their goals. In any event, we’ll help you figure out a solution, whether or not the community foundation ultimately plays a role. The challenge of producing local news in an environment of rising costs and decreasing revenues has led to the disappearance of local journalism in many parts of rural America, but Weston County can breathe a little easier after Newcastle’s newspaper was one of about 200 media companies in the country chosen to receive a grant to aid in continuing its mission. Congratulations to the News Letter Journal on their $100,000 award! The NLJ was one of 205 grant recipients selected from among 931 applicants, and the only Wyoming news outlet to receive one of the Press Forward grants. WYCF is proud to be the local Wyoming Press Forward chapter. Read all about it: https://lnkd.in/gqzUUegp
