Many grandparents and relatives look forward to retirement as a time to slow down, travel, or pursue personal goals. But for kinship caregivers, that chapter often takes an unexpected turn. Raising a child for the second time comes with love and devotion, but it also brings financial strain, legal hurdles, emotional exhaustion, and social isolation. Many kinship caregivers feel disconnected from old friends who don’t share the same responsibilities. Others struggle to access resources that help them meet their own needs while providing stability for the children in their care. That’s where Kinship Connections of Wyoming comes in. Their caring team helps kinship caregivers navigate: ? School enrollment & academic support ? Legal options & permanency planning ? Support groups & respite care ? Access to social & recreational programs ? Advocacy & connection to vital services No caregiver should feel alone in this journey. Our Kinship Navigators provide the guidance and community support needed to help families thrive. If you or someone you know is raising a relative’s child, help is available at no cost. Dial 2-1-1 to be connected or visit www.kcowyo.org to learn more.
