Seattle's historic Washington Hall was electric on March 15, 2025, as DEFY Wrestling's Super 8XGP unfolded! With the DEFY World Championship up for grabs, the night promised a high-stakes tournament and a potential new era for indie wrestling in the Pacific Northwest. The energy was incredible, with longtime fans and newcomers alike packing the hall. DEFY has truly become a community, celebrating diversity and local talent, connecting performers and fans through a shared love of storytelling and grit. The 8XGP tournament had a thrilling eight-man showdown, featuring four opening matches and a final battle to crown the new champ. Jordan Oasis, a Tacoma native and DEFY original, returned with a mission. "To come back as more of a final product of myself and capture gold… it’s special," said Oasis, now a WWE ID Prospect. He credited DEFY for shaping him: "DEFY helped shape who I am now. That will always stay with me". Rhio, the Most Dangerous Woman in Europe, brought international flair to DEFY's first-ever Women’s 2 Survive elimination match. "I want people to say I pushed women’s wrestling forward," Rhio shared. "Don’t let anyone put limitations on you!". Liza Hall, the Rain City Stretcher, felt "calm" and "good" in the ring, adding another historic moment to her resume. For the Bollywood Boys, DEFY is a "second mountain," a place to continue their legacy with the support of fans. Randy Myers, the Weirdo Hero, called DEFY "therapy" and "connection," a place to be fully himself. GM Matt Farmer emphasized, "We want everybody to feel safe here. We want everybody to be represented here". #ConvergeMediaPresents: The Feels Foundation's TF9: Now + Later art showcase, held March 22, 2025, at AXIS Pioneer Square in Seattle, celebrated identity, transformation, and self-discovery. Featuring artists Angelina V., Charde' Camille Brown, B Line Dot, Hanako O’Leary, and Gerardo Pe?a, the event showcased diverse mediums, including sculpture, digital art, photography, and installations. Ten emerging artists added to the dynamic atmosphere, blending nostalgia with futurism. Artists explored personal evolution, with some revisiting past works and others using technology to explore new perspectives. Charde’ Brown's work reflected five years of her mental health journey as a Black woman, while Erynne Byrd-Quigtar celebrated Black joy and motherhood. Vendor booths and an artist panel enhanced the experience, with Jacque Churchville highlighting the tactile art and bold colors that distinguished this year's showcase. TF9: Now + Later aimed to fund youth arts programs in schools like Washington Middle School and Aki Kurose Middle School, providing free art activities and supplies. Proceeds supported the summer session and potential kid-focused events. Demonstrating a commitment to social justice, 10% of proceeds went to the WA Immigrant Solidarity Network, reflecting the foundation’s dedication to broader community needs. The Feels once again successfully provided a platform for artistic expression and ensured the continuation of programs empowering young artists.
