CMA’s Toyota of Martinsburg generously donated $6,664 to the WVU Hospitals East Foundation’s Chairs for Comfort campaign, bringing us closer to securing funding for 21 new infusion treatment chairs for the WVU Cancer Institute at Berkeley Medical Center. These upgraded chairs, featuring heat and massage options, will provide patients with the enhanced comfort they need during lengthy treatments—amenities often wished for by those undergoing hours of infusion. ? Toyota of Martinsburg is one of the first organizations in our community to step up in support, joined by individuals who have given in honor of loved ones. We encourage the community to join this impactful campaign by donating in support, in honor, or in memory of someone who has endured these challenging treatments. ? Congratulations to Donnie Grubb, Manager of Trauma & Emergency Management at Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Center, for being named the honored recipient of the 2024 Fire Chief Award. Donnie received his award at the WVU Medicine Emergency Management Symposium in Morgantown and was nominated by his peers across this system. The fire chief/fire extinguisher award goes to the individual who puts out the most fires. This individual, through no fault of their own, frequently has major incidents arise, and works through them calmly and effectively, demonstrating what true emergency management leadership is all about. It may seem like they are always in the midst of a disaster, major or minor, but always come through. And when the smoke clears, they are immediately sharing lessons learned with the rest of the team. Congratulations, Donnie, for this well-deserved honor! He is pictured (far left) at the WVU Medicine Emergency Management Awards Ceremony with other honorees from across the system.
