Safety and security are top priorities at WUSD. That's why we utilize the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to handle emergencies. Stay informed and help keep our schools safe by familiarizing yourself with these key SRP terms and actions. Don't forget to save & share! #LetsTalkSafety

It’s Indigenous Peoples' Day! Join us as we honor the Indigenous people whose histories and cultures have shaped the land we live on today. WUSD stands on the traditional home of the Patwin people, and we honor their deep and lasting connection to this region. October 14th is also a no-school day for all our schools except for Washington Middle College High School

It's true, schools can't do it all alone. But, when we work alongside incredible partners like the Masons of California and Raising a Reader, we can inspire change together! ?? Thank you for your meaningful contributions to supporting academic achievement in WUSD! ?? “With approximately 10% of our student population from countries outside the United States attending school in our district, it is clear that West Sacramento is seeing a rise of ‘newcomers’,” said Dr. Cheryl P. Hildreth, Superintendent of Washington Unified School District. “We are grateful to Raising a Reader and the Masons of California for partnering with us to improve the educational outcomes for these students.”
Yesterday, I had the privilege of participating in a wonderful event with our amazing community partners, Raising a Reader and the Masons of California, to support literacy for Afghan refugee students in our West Sacramento Community. ??? At Washington Unified, we are fortunate to have such dedicated partners working alongside us to strengthen resources and promote educational equity for all our youth. Through their generosity, our partners provided funding for bilingual books with Farsi translation for 150 young Afghan refugees currently enrolled in?our WUSD Newcomer Center and Farsi-translated materials to 50 classrooms across the district! BIG THANKS to our partners and let’s continue to work hand-in-hand to uplift and empower our students through education. ???? #Great2bWUSD #StrongCommunityPartnerships #EducationalEquity
