Join WTS CT for a hike at Bluff Point State Park in Groton on October 6th at 8:00am. The loop around the peninsula is approximately 3.6 miles (2-3 hours) along a gravel trail. Breaks are anticipated to be taken at points of interest around the loop to take a drink or eat or take photos. Make sure to pack hiking essentials: - Daypack - Snack - Water - Check weather for appropriate clothing & footwear Location: Meet in the main parking lot at the end of Depot Road (Gravel). Join Connecticut Department of Transportation, ADA Coalition of Connecticut, City of New Britain, WTS CT, ITE CT and the T2 Center for an anniversary celebration event to mark 34 years of ADA! This event will break down classroom walls and offer an outdoor experience for participants to hear how individuals are improving accessibility in communities. Hear updates from the federal, state and local levels including City of New Britain's initiatives. The event also includes table exhibits with resources and hands-on activities. Participants will be able to inspect pedestrian facilities such as curb ramps and sidewalks and experience a small glimpse of challenges faced by people with disabilities every day. A light breakfast will be provided and will be first, come first serve. The event is free, but registration is required.
