The Kansas City area has long been a transportation hub, stemming from its days as the starting point of the Pony Express and its role in the expansion of America’s railroads. Today, the greater Kansas City metropolitan area is home to dozens of engineering firms, Class I railroads and a growing logistics community. On December 18, 2013, Kansas City became home to the 50th WTS chapter. Thank you to all of our founding members and several local companies for your help in bringing WTS to Kansas City. We invite you to join us as we support the advancement of women in transportation across both sides of the state line.

Some of our chapter leaders are hard at work in Chicago this week at the WTS International Chapter Leader Summit! At the summit they are focusing on strategic initiatives, international best practices and making connections with chapter leaders across the organization. A message to share that was a key takeaway from the first first morning of programming is to “lead like there are little girls watching.” #advancingwomen #advancingtransportation
