In coordination with Investissement Québec, the World Trade Center New Orleans hosted an inbound trade mission of maritime and logistics professionals from Quebec. Over the course of two days, participants had the opportunity to meet with key stakeholders in the Louisiana maritime ecosystem to learn more about how our maritime ecosystem plays a critical role in the global supply chain.

The New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPB) and Heniff Transportation Systems, LLC (Heniff) announced that they have signed an agreement for Heniff to manage rail transloading services at the newly opened New Orleans Transloading Industrial Park. This facility, located on Terminal Road in New Orleans East, will help shippers move goods more easily between trucks and trains, making it faster to transport freight to America’s heartland.

This week, the World Trade Center led a trade mission to Rotterdam to learn from professionals at one of the world’s largest maritime gateways. Over the course of three days, we visited the Port of Rotterdam, met with leading startups and discussed shared challenges and growth opportunities with government officials and researchers. Representatives from Greater New Orleans, Inc. – GNO, Inc. and the World Trade Center New Orleans were in Vienna recently, where they presented their region to a selected group of #Austrian business leaders. Most people know New Orleans for #Mardigras, #jazz, and #gumbo, but did you know that every #rocket launched by #NASA was assembled in New Orleans at the NASA Michoud assembly facility? Or that the #deepwater container #port in New Orleans has a capacity of 840,000 TEU? Today, while in Bratislava, the World Trade Center New Orleans executed an MOU of economic corporation with the Council of Slovak Exporters (Exporteri.sk) in the presence of the Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Kamil ?a?ko. This MOU will establish avenues of cooperation between Louisiana and Slovakia to create pipelines of business growth for Slovakian companies to Louisiana.
