We're in the middle of our Fall Pledge Drive, the most critical part of our annual fundraising, and we find ourselves needing to shut down our signal for tower maintenance. When we talk about public radio, we talk about news, culture, storytelling. We talk about community and we talk about support. We don't often talk about the mechanics of actually getting radio on the air. This week, we needed to install new lights on our main tower. That means crews physically climbing this tower to do that installation. While they're up there, we have to power down our signal, to keep them safe. It's necessary, but it's putting a dent in our fundraising efforts. Support from our members pays for great programming, but it also pays for these kinds of repairs. It's you who literally keeps us on the air. If you can take a minute today to become a member, you can help us wrap up our drive. Go to wskg.org and click GIVE NOW to become a WSKG member.
