Last month, WSFSSH joined the annual NYC HOPE Count, canvass streets, subway stations, parks, and other public spaces across the city to identify individuals living unsheltered. We want to give a huge thanks to @GaleBrewerNYC for joining us, to our Director of Clinical & Social Services Cara Brussovansky for getting WSFSSH involved and to the WSFSSH staff for their time and dedication to this cause. #NYCHOPE #WSFSSH

Last week, WSFSSH joined LiveOn NY, Council Members Crystal Hudson, Mercedes Narcisse, and Eric Bottcher, along with fellow advocates at City Hall, to demand $2.3 billion in critical funding for older New Yorkers. The #AgeStrongNYC campaign, backed by over 50 organizations, is calling on city leaders to invest in housing, nutrition, and community services to ensure seniors can age with dignity and support. New York City thrives because of its older adults—it’s time to show up for them. Let’s keep the momentum going! Join the fight for a stronger, more supportive NYC. #WSFSSH #AgeStrongNYC #SupportOurSeniors #Advocacy #NYC

Last week, some WSFSSH staff members had the incredible opportunity to tour the construction site of our newest development—Fischer Senior Apartments! Scheduled to open later this fall, Fischer is a 105-unit, 9-story building that will soon provide safe and supportive housing for seniors in the Bronx. During the tour, we explored the site and even got a sneak peek at the breathtaking outdoor deck our future residents will enjoy. The progress is truly inspiring, and we’re thrilled to see this vision come to life! Fischer Senior Apartments represents another step forward in WSFSSH’s commitment to expanding our impact and providing high-quality housing for seniors. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to opening day! #WSFSSH #SeniorHousing #SupportiveHousing #FischerSeniorApartments #TheBronx #CommunityBuilding

A major win for housing advocacy! Last week, the City Council passed the City of Yes for Housing plan, securing $5 billion for housing over the next 15 years and paving the way for 80,000 new homes! WSFSSH is proud to have played a role in advocating for this transformative plan, emphasizing the urgent need for funding senior housing and supportive services. These zoning changes, coupled with this historic investment, will help build a more inclusive NYC for everyone. Let’s keep working to ensure this funding reaches where it’s needed most—like affordable housing for seniors. Together, we’re shaping a brighter future!
