Great day with IHDA's NextGen cohort at POAH Communities' Jessie Jackson Jr. rehab site with UJAMAA Construction! We discussed scaling up to larger project sizes, specific points around LIHTC and more. I continue to be impressed by the cohort members as we complete 8 months of work heading towards our capstone project and excited to for the upcoming group of students. Engagement as NextGen content creator, instructor and speaker curator is one of the best assignments I've had in my career. Thank you to LISC Chicago! #NextGen #CommunityDevelopment

UIC's Department of Urban Planning and Policy invites you to our Housing Justice Panel on January 30th, 2024, honoring the legacy of Dr. Janet Smith. This free event will feature a provocative conversation around the critical topic, “Where are the most vulnerable to live?” Housing justice has been a core part of the department’s identity and community engagement, as exemplified by Janet’s tremendous contributions to affordable, public, and accessible housing in Chicago and beyond. We hope with this event to honor Janet’s contributions, engage key leaders in substantive conversations around affordable housing, and further support momentum for housing justice in Chicagoland. This event features comments from Alderman Byron Sigcho Lopez and Sue Loellbach. Panelists include Joy Hammel, Tania Kadakia, Cheryl Johnson, Katanya E. R., and Doug Schenkleberg. angela hurlock will moderate the panel.?We look forward to seeing you there! RSVP at https://lnkd.in/gHTxw_ry
