I found Alex Cattoni & The Copy Posse in 2021 & became a loyal student aka Copy Posse 'member.' ? Because of them (& another entity), I stay up-to-date with copywriting tips & marketing trends. Wednesday's Words ... Guess what, "topic & subject" are interchangeable. However, they should not be. Why? Because they do not necessarily mean the same thing. ????♀? I'll keep it brief! ? Although "topic" is for sub-section context, it is usually when a broader context is present. If the broader context is NOT mentioned, referenced or implied, "topic & subject" are interchangeable. ?? Thursday Thoughts *Inspired by an IG post from The Million Dollar Word Stylist Apryl Beverly ???? Conversate vs. Converse ????♀? Like nails being scraped on a chalkboard, my ears bled when I heard people say, "Conversate." I'd quickly correct them if I knew them, blame rap music, blame #TheGrammys, blame #Beyonce, and go on about my day. ???????????? Imagine my recent surprise while scrolling IG, I hear, "Conversate is a word." WHAT?!? ?? I was sure Ms. Apryl's account was hacked or I was experiencing an AI hallucination. NOPE! To my dismay, it was indeed Ms. Apryl telling the world it was OK to say, "Conversate." ????♀? After picking up my face & regaining breath, I read her caption. Apparently, conversate is an old word that fell out of common usage centuries ago. WELL!! ?? I wasn't satisfied with Ms. Apryl's caption ????♀?, even though she's one of my copywriting mentors! ????♀? Thus, I did some research and ... I ate humble pie that day! IT ???? WAS ????
