Today, after nineteen years, I completed my service as an advisory board member of the Brigham Young University College of Information Technology & Cybersecurity. Although ours was the first accredited college of Information Technology in the United States, it is being phased out and replaced with cybersecurity which is very popular among students. It was always a thrill for me to be on the BYU Provo campus. Our IT and cybersecurity students are the creme of the crop, the best of the best, and the brightest of the brightest. There I worked with outstanding professors including Derek Hansen, Barry Lunt, J. J. Ekstrom, Chia-Chi Teng, Dale Rowe Ph.D. CISSP GXPN, Richard Helps, Albert Tay, Benjamin Schooley, Jay Snell, Brandt Redd. Thank you all for allowing me to serve among you. Other faithful board members included JD Nyland, Charles Smutz, Alan Smoot, Roger Timmerman, and Rita Carney (Walmart) who all served without compensation. Our reward was to be part of something bigger than ourselves. We also served as judges for senior capstone projects, met with students to hear their concerns, typed notes for the following day's review, and advised in meetings with the professors. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve.

Most customers are honest
I learned in the early days of WriteExpress to treat customers who downloaded our software and asked for a refund, although we had no way of knowing if they would keep and use our software, as honest, thank them, refund their money without question, and turn it into a positive experience by asking what we can do to improve our software. It worked. Unsatisfied customers offered helpful suggestions. By showing humility and kindness, we bypassed contention. People want to be treated kindly and when they do most will warmly reciprocate.
