Creative and thoughtful research professional with 20+ years of experience

So much of my personal and professional life involves writing. Whether working on my collection of poems or drafting infographics to explain what clinical research is and how collected data are used and protected, I'm a writer at heart. So it should come as no surprise that for the 4th year in a row, I'm helping to raise funds for an organization I am truly passionate about. @WriteBoston provides transformative opportunities for teens to share their voices. And the organization also supports teachers so they have the skills to really support deep learning through literacy. You can: - Join me at the event on May 1st - Donate any amount (even if you can't attend) - Talk to your company about sponsoring https://lnkd.in/e4KBVSr3 Feel free to DM me with any questions!

Every teenager has a story to tell, but not all have a platform to share it. At WriteBoston, we’re changing that. Through partnerships like the?Real Teens, Real Problems?podcast with St. Stephen’s Youth Programs, we’re giving young people in Boston the opportunity to express their voices, tackle their challenges, and connect with their community in meaningful ways. As Marcus, one of our participants, said: “It’s okay to say what you need to say, because it’s better to say it out loud than keep it inside.” This podcast isn’t just about creating content—it’s about empowerment. Teens collaborate, reflect, and share stories that matter most to them. “Real Teens, Real Problems” - a Teens in Print and St. Stephen’s Collaboration ?? Last Friday, Teens in Print and St. Stephen’s Youth Programs collaborated on their "Real Teens, Real Problems" podcast and hosted a listening party. This was an opportunity for the TiPsters to dive further in multimedia work. TiPsters Nuriel Gutman and Pietro Waterman have spent the past few months working with students from St. Stephens alongside TiP youth facilitator Elvis Alvarado to write, record, and produce a podcast for Boston teens and their experiences. "Watching the kids kind of lean into making a podcast from scratch and coming up with their own topics has made me feel way more emboldened to be creative in my own life."?- Elvis Alvarado, TiP Youth Program Facilitator. The podcast, “Real Teens, Real Problems,” gives teens a place to explore and handle their social and academic challenges. It hopes to give teens a way to build community and feel that they can lean on each other when things get hard, a lesson that definitely came through to those making the podcast: "It's okay to say what you need to say, because it's better to say it out loud than keep it inside."?- Marcus, St. Stephen’s Youth Program Attendee. Stay tuned for more details on the podcast release!

Teachers are students too ?? What does the phrase “professional development” bring to mind?? It might be an image of educators in small groups, deeply engaged in researching, discussing, and practicing the moves they know they need to grow their professional practice. It might be an image of a speaker who clicks methodically through slides, while a large room full of teachers face front and try not to zone out or stress about the pile of grading back at their desks. At WriteBoston, we are dreamers.?We’re also experienced educators and instructional coaches with a mission to bring the reality of education up to its full potential. Scroll through for 6 Principles for Effective Professional Development ? Don't forget to read the full report here: https://bit.ly/4grY1Pz
