As someone who works from home most of the time (and is a big advocate for flexibility), I try not to wade into the WFH debate too much—because, well, bias. But this video was a refreshing take on the hybrid working model. In just two years, the increase in women working full-time has been greater than in the 40 years prior. Let that sink in. After nearly 11 years recruiting in renewables, I see firsthand the challenges in attracting diverse talent, especially women in STEM. But here’s the thing—when they’re in the room, perspectives & problem-solving improves. ?? It’s no coincidence that flexibility has helped more women enter and stay in STEM. So why has the conversation flipped to 5 days back in office for companies, and why aren’t we leaning into the hybrid model? ?? What a great way to round out our trip across to SA. We stopped in at the Albany Wind Farm on our way back to Perth. ??? Now we’re back in WA, we’re back to normal programming, but not for long. ? Being a “sole trader” has been an interesting shift from working in established recruitment agencies. What has been the biggest change is what the start of the year looks like. If you’d told me a year ago that my January involved: ?? Setting goals for the year that align with our strategic objectives ?? Working with our clients to understand what went well through 2024, and how we can strengthen our partnership through 2025 ?? Looking at how we ensure high quality delivery to our clients through inventive solutions (RPO’s, exclusive scopes of work and onboarding international talent) I definitely would have believed you as this is part of running a healthy, and sustainable business. But….I don’t know if I’d believe you if you’d told me I’d be doing this; ??? Within a business where I truly believed in our service and values ?? Get to work the hours that work for me and my clients from any location as long as we deliver the results we commit to (this does include some very early mornings for our East Coast clients - nothing a coffee can’t fix at 6am) ?? ????
