On Tuesday 15th April 2025, our Construction Manager, Glenn, will take on an incredible challenge—cycling nearly 200 miles from Worksop to Scotland over four days, all to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and the British Red Cross. We're delighted to have recently supported the Get in 2 Apprenticeships Event at Serlby Park Academy in #Doncaster, hosted by The Early Talent Consultancy. Representing us at the event were: ? Gary Chadwick – Design Office Manager ? James Maddock – Design Engineer (former apprentice, recently completed Level 3 Apprenticeship and now starting Higher National Certificate) ? Lila-Louise May Glossop – Apprentice Design Engineer (recently joined our design team) ? Sarah Collins – Project Administrator (lead for apprenticeship onboarding and school/college liaison) The event began with a professional overview from Helen Eleftheriou of The Early Talent Consultancy, outlining the diverse apprenticeship opportunities available across various industries, along with guidance on how to apply and the many benefits apprenticeships can offer. Students then participated in smaller breakout sessions, including: "Meet the Employers" – led by our apprentices James and Lila-Louise, who shared first-hand insights into apprentice life, managing studies alongside work, and their personal career aspirations at Wright. They answered questions honestly, providing students with a clear and authentic view of an apprenticeship. STEM "Skills Session" – Gary and Sarah engaged students in a practical activity to "Build a Bridge," challenging them to work collaboratively to deliver a project on time and within budget. This activity provided valuable insight into project roles such as Design Engineers, Project Managers, and Quantity Surveyors, sparking interest in engineering and project management careers. The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing students to ask additional questions and reflect on what they had learned. Following the event, feedback highlighted an impressive 72% increase in students' understanding of apprenticeships. A huge thank you to Helen and The Early Talent Consultancy for organising such an impactful day.
