关于我们
A UNIQUE MISSION The Wright Brothers Institute (WBI) is partnered with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), a $5B technology powerhouse, to energize world-class R&D collaborations and technology innovation. With AFRL, we reach out to universities, small businesses, industry, government agencies, and international experts to solve complex problems in aerospace and national security. We also partner with AFRL, and regional, state and national economic development organizations to stimulate a vibrant industrial base by transferring technology from AFRL to businesses and the public sector. We do all this as a non-profit and neutral third party to facilitate free and open interchanges. UNIQUE CAPABILITIES Specifically developed for fostering R&D collaborations and technology innovation, our 25,000 sq ft Tec^Edge Innovation and Collaboration Center provides a wonderful environment for bringing together subject matter experts and joint teams from government, industry and academia. It includes our IDEA Lab and Discovery Labs for exploring complex problems and experimenting. Our 25,000 sq ft Tec^Edge Works facility is a high tech “monster garage” for rapidly prototyping and testing everything from unmanned air vehicles to electronic surveillance systems. We also reach out to a world-wide network of innovators to energize R&D collaborations and technology transfer in aerospace, advanced materials and manufacturing, human performance, sensors, and environmental technologies.

"In fiscal year 2025, the Space Force has budgeted $20 million specifically for research and development on on-orbit servicing technologies to increase satellite maneuverability and longevity. Through public-private partnerships, the DoD is leveraging commercial innovations to address these challenges and accelerate capability development." Wright Brothers Institute (WBI) performed a study and market assessment to deconstruct the problems impeding OOS capability development, outlining ways that public-private partnerships can help the DoD overcome OOS capability gaps. #orbit #servicing #public #private #partnership #satellite Read more: https://zurl.co/dnmj

Technology commercialization has MANY steps, with many collaborators. WBI is proud to have helped Aaron M. Jones, founder of Raider Technologies, and co-inventor from the Air Force Research Laboratory, mature radar technology, with the help of The University of Kansas, that has the potential to ensure mission effectiveness in defense markets and make an impact on a multitude of other industries! AFRL's Entrepreneurial Opportunities Program greatly facilitated the commercialization process and boosted Dayton's tech startup ecosystem. The economic development experts at the Entrepreneurs' Center have continued supporting companies like Raider Technologies to make innovations a reality. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gbPKQhwc

When was the last time you left a workshop and felt productive? WBI's facilitation services are so much more than reserving a room or managing the clock. We help build an agenda with customized sessions that will drive to outcomes faster, making your time away from day-to-day work more efficient and productive. Our facilitators also have years of experience supporting the US Air Force and other DoD agencies, many of whom have served or supported the defense community for decades. That gives us a keen understanding of the problems of the day. Ready to learn more? Visit https://lnkd.in/gcf9p9c5 to learn more.
