The stars and stripes wave proudly over Bridge One on our Tennessee Department of Transportation Apison Pike (SR317) Reconstruction Project in Hamilton County, TN! ? This project is Phase three of four in TDOT's plan to connect Apison Pike from I-75 to East Brainerd Road. This portion, which is scheduled for completion in late spring/early summer 2025, is located between Ooltewah Ringgold Road and Layton Lane. Nearly half of the route will have a new alignment, as its shifted to the north of the existing roadway. The roadway in this section will all be widened to five-lanes, continuing the same flow completed in the prior two phases (also by Wright Brothers). ? In total, construction will include five bridges and nine walls along the route. Additionally, 4-foot bike lanes and 5-foot sidewalks will be constructed along both sides of the roadway. A new intersection has been completed at Tallant Road with a roundabout design. Bridge number one, featured in this post, is currently being constructed over the Norfolk Southern Railroad to separate the tracks from the state route. ? Wright Brothers crews finished the installation of a temporary bridge In the heart of Chimney Rock, NC. The bridge, which connects Southside Drive to US 64/74A, was severely damaged after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc, pushing the Rocky Broad River beyond its banks. The town was left devastated, with roads, homes, and infrastructure damaged, and the critical lifeline of the bridge was gone, cutting off easy access for residents, emergency teams, and utility workers. ? Now that this bridge has been repaired, power crews are now able to cross the bridge for the first time last week, initiating the process of restoring electricity to neighborhoods still in the dark.
