At the NYPD Guardians 51st Annual Scholarship Awards & Dinner Dance, Westchester Rockland Guardians Association President Paul Hood and 1st Vice President Wade Hardy shared a table with the daughter and fiance of fallen NYPD Detective Sean Gerald Carrington, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on January 19, 1998. His daughter was just 2 years old at the time of the incident. The NYPD Guardians honored Det. Sean Gerald by presenting a scholarship in his name. Congratulations to all the honorees and scholarship recipients at the event. It was a night filled with meaningful recognition. Throughout the evening, we had the privilege of networking with many active and retired members of the NYPD, including two remarkable women leading the department - Commissioner Jessica Tisch and 1st Deputy Commissioner Tania Kinsella. A fitting tribute during Women's History Month to celebrate their impactful roles within the force.

In celebration of Black History Month today, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office's DEI Committee organized a panel discussion featuring the Divine Nine (a group of nine historically African American sororities and fraternities). It was my privilege to moderate this remarkable event, where attendees delved into the origins, work, initiatives, and challenges of the Devine Nine. The panelists were incredible. The panel discussions pulsated with energy and passion, highlighting key themes such as education, fairness, opportunity, enrichment, service, and community. The event provided valuable insights into the Divine Nine's (D9) impactful contributions, sparking meaningful conversations and reflections on these vital topics.
