#Testing is a big part of making sure your #strategy is working. Our VP of Data Strategy & Analytics Drew Ford makes an interesting point about the different methods you could be using.
Have you thought about using Bayesian inference instead of traditional hypothesis tests for marketing incrementality testing? At Wpromote, we leverage our extensive experience in running matched market tests across various industries and company sizes providing a nice distribution of incremental lift across channels, platforms, and tactics. With these results, we could offer a diverse range of informed priors for analyzing individual test results. Leveraging informed priors in testing could help to: ? Run shorter tests with fewer markets/smaller sample size ?? Reduce opportunity costs ?? Increase your chances of statistical significance ?? Use of credible intervals to support decision-making for profitability The graph below is a simulation of tests demonstrating how Bayesian methods, especially with smaller observed lifts, can cut your time to statistical significance in half (non-zero CI). For example, with a 10% lift, Bayesian inference could allow you to complete tests twice as fast, letting you run more experiments each year. While informed priors improve speed, keep in mind that misrepresentative priors could potentially bias test outcomes if the priors do not accurately represent your marketing performance. It’s crucial to choose priors carefully. I'm interested in gauging demand for this methodology — would you consider collaborating with an agency to improve your testing with insights from past experiments?
