As Hurricane Milton approaches landfall in Florida tonight, our thoughts are with our colleagues, clients, and partners across the region. We want to acknowledge our very own, Jarrod Uddin, who made it to safety after relocating from Orlando, ensuring that his well-being remains a priority. Jarrod, your resilience is a reflection of the spirit we champion. We understand that in times like these, even the most robust organizations face unexpected challenges. To all those impacted by Helene and now Milton, you are at the forefront of our thoughts and prayers. We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to many of our clients who are stepping up in these critical moments?–?leading relief efforts, protecting their teams, and reinforcing safety measures. Your decisive actions underscore the leadership we admire, and we commend your dedication to doing what's right. Please stay safe, stay productive, and know that we're all in this together.

Just plain #fun to be on the road this summer for WPNT Communications! So #grateful for our decade-long partnership. ?? Latest stop: ????. Coaching a fantastic group of CEOs on "big stage" #presentation. "Big stage" is a literal, but also a figurative term. Bottom line, when you have to #influence an audience in an unusually large or impactful setting, that's "big stage." It can be scary, even if you've done it many times! ?? Three quick tips: 1. Be big. Activate your physicality, especially your gestures. Own the space. Your audience equates your body confidence with confidence in your ideas. 2. Be quiet. In other words, PAUSE. Pause longer and more often. Pause for emphasis and power. Pause to breathe. Own the silences to own the room. 3. Be yourself. As Oscar Wilde said, "Everyone else is already taken." Audiences crave #authenticity. So be fearless in connecting through your unique stories, perspectives and insights. You and your audience will be glad you did! ?? ?? #presentationskillstraining #bigstage #communicationcoaching

On our latest episode of The Leading in a Crisis Podcast, we discuss use of simulation tools to help inject some adrenaline into a crisis exercise. Our guest is Geoff Paddock, based in the UK, who runs a very realistic simulation tool for crisis exercises large and small. He has some stories from his years delivering sometimes crazy injects to unsuspecting teams via social media simulation. He says it's fun and it gets the adrenaline flowing. If you've received a call in the middle of the night asking you to grab a bag and get on a plane or get to the office, you know the feeling when adrenaline kicks in. Crisis has arrived and it's time to respond. It's challenging to train people how to work effectively when adrenaline is pumping. We host crisis exercises and try to simulate what responders will see - and feel - when in the trenches of a response. For the communications team, we bring in live simulation tools that show real time social posts from elected officials, NGOs, and other parties who may try to leverage the crisis for their own benefit. If our simulation gets your heart rate up, we know it’s working. That is Geoff's job, and he's pretty good at it.
