It wasn't that long ago that graduate students Anurag Bansal & Poorajith Sasikumar Thenmozhi CAPM?, ACP?,SAFe? conceptualized starting their organization ColibreClub, a group that would use free and open source software to bridge the gap between business and technology. ?? ?? Fastforward a few months and in partnership with Intead, they successfully hosted a Hackathon where students were able to showcase their ideas and learn more about how they can turn those ideas into businesses. ?? ?? ??A New Chapter Begins: My Journey to Associate Professor with Tenure at WPI! When I first arrived in the U.S. to pursue my Ph.D. several years ago, I had no idea where the journey would take me. I came with a lot of curiosity, ambition, and the desire to make an impact, but I was also facing many uncertainties in a new country and academic environment. Little did I know that this path would be filled with growth, perseverance, and invaluable lessons that would shape both my academic and personal life. Today, I’m excited to share that I’ve been promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI)—a milestone that feels both surreal and incredibly rewarding. The journey here hasn’t been without its challenges, but it’s been a truly enriching experience. I’ve been fortunate to work with wonderful colleagues in both the WPI Business School and the Data Science Program. Their support and collaboration have been key to my growth, both as a researcher and as an educator. One of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been seeing the impact of my students’ work. Their curiosity, drive, and innovation continually remind me of why I love what I do. From the classroom to project implementation and research collaboration, they’ve been a constant source of inspiration. I’ve also had the unwavering support of my family, especially my wife, Arina, whose love, patience, and belief in me have been a constant source of strength. Without you, none of this would have been possible. As I look ahead, I’m excited to continue exploring critical questions at the intersection of people, organizations, and technology to facilitate the development, implementation, and use of socially responsible, trustworthy, and advanced technologies for the betterment of society. This new chapter is not just about what I’ve accomplished, but about the opportunities to come—both for myself and for the community I’m lucky to be a part of.
