关于我们
Woven Health Clinic is a 501c3 charitable clinic that provides primary health care services for people who live in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Farmers Branch, and northwest Dallas that cannot afford healthcare. The Clinic is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient Centered Medical Home. Founded in 1992, it incorporated in 1993 as On Eagles Wings by two local churches, who saw an urgent need for healthcare for the underprivileged in the community. At the outset, the Clinic was open one night a week and some weekends with an all-volunteer medical staff. In 2003, the Clinic joined Dallas County Medical Society Project Access. This partnership allowed the Clinic to hire some paid staff, including a nurse, family practice physician, and medical assistants. Changing its name to Metrocrest Family Medical Clinic, it also added volunteer specialists in Dermatology, Gynecology, and Neurology. In 2011, the Clinic expanded funding to include Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison and Coppell and additional resources from HCA. It also expanded its hours to become a full-time operation, Monday through Friday, with a full-time internal medicine physician. The name was changed to Metrocrest Community Clinic and its focus became primary care. In 2016, the Clinic received new grant funding from Metrocrest Hospital Authority, Dallas Women’s Foundation, and the American Heart Association. The Clinic focused its resources on Chronic Disease Management, Disease Prevention, and Women’s Health. The Clinic added a nutritionist and a behavioral specialist, and formalized a partnership with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for Behavioral and Mental Health. The Clinic offers comprehensive, prevention-focused healthcare, both physical and mental, to treat the entire person. Changing its name to Woven Health Clinic, it believes the healthcare services provided are woven inextricably into the fabric of the communities it serves.

Through this collaboration, we’re ensuring that more individuals can see clearly—helping them work, learn, and live healthier lives. A huge thank you to Essilor Vision Foundation for their commitment to making vision care accessible for all! We are thrilled to share that Woven Health Clinic has received a grant from Direct Relief & Teva Pharmaceuticals, with support from National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC), to help expand access to mental health services in our community. Access to behavioral health care remains a critical need for many individuals facing barriers to care in the U.S. Through the Teva Pharmaceuticals Community Routes: Access to Mental Health Care program—led in partnership with Direct Relief and the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC)—we are working to bridge this gap and provide essential mental health services to those who need them most. ?? This week, I had the privilege of joining the Texas Association of Charitable Clinics at the Texas Capitol for Legislative Days, advocating for funding for nonprofit charitable healthcare clinics. These clinics, like Woven Health Clinic, play a vital role in keeping our communities healthy and reducing the financial burden on hospitals and the state. Why does this matter? We save hospitals money – Nonprofit clinics provide preventive and primary care, keeping uninsured and underinsured patients out of costly emergency rooms. We save the state money – By addressing chronic conditions early, we reduce avoidable hospitalizations and Medicaid spending. We improve community health – Access to affordable primary care, mental health support, and chronic disease management leads to better long-term health outcomes and a stronger workforce. #HealthcareForAll #LegislativeAdvocacy #CharitableClinics #HealthEquity #WovenHealthClinic #TexasHealthCare

I recently had the incredible opportunity to interview with Decent for their Healthcare Rebel Alliance series and talk about the work we’re doing at Woven Health Clinic to transform healthcare for underserved communities. I hope this inspires others to think creatively and compassionately about healthcare solutions. Let me know your thoughts or how you’re making a difference in your own community. https://lnkd.in/grBueevk

At Woven Health Clinic, a nonprofit organization, we believe everyone deserves access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. That’s why we’ve embraced the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model. DPC allows us to put people over profits. For a flat monthly fee, patients get unlimited access to their doctor—whether through in-person visits or telehealth. There’s no insurance middleman, no co-pays, and no surprise bills—just transparent pricing and care when it’s needed most. As a nonprofit, we’re dedicated to making healthcare more accessible, focusing on preventive care, chronic condition management, and spending the time patients need to truly thrive. This approach reflects our mission: to build healthier communities by ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care. Curious about how DPC could work for you or your workplace? Let’s connect!
