The Cultural Connections Agency

关于我们

Worthi is a full-service cultural connections agency, where we grow brands and build IP by harnessing the massive influence, buying power and sheer size of underestimated audiences. We implement an ethnographic marketing approach into everything we do. Ethnography is the study of people and cultures, and we steep ourselves in the behaviors and desires of specific communities, and create the cultural relevance between their unique needs, and a brand’s unique story, to create a lasting bond. Why? Because these audiences influence and define broader culture and offer inarguable and extensive bottom line value to brands, and ultimately, their business longevity depends on their adoption… This is growth marketing. Full stop. Oh, and we're Black owned and BIPOC/LGBTQ+ operated ??? Let's do some #WorthiWork

Marketing Director @ GoFundMe | Prev: Head of Social, Influencer | 3x Shorty Awards Winner

Social media trends rise and fall FAST—but if your brand does it right, it doesn't matter if you're late! Here's how GoFundMe finally activated around the "demure" trend ?? ?? Insight: A few weeks ago,?Jools Lebron (the TikTok creator behind the mega-viral "demure" trend) shared?her gratitude?for the countless opportunities she was receiving. Because of her newfound fame, she was getting paid to work with brands like Verizon, Lyft, Netflix, and so many others. And because of those deals, she announced she'll finally be able to afford her transition surgery. ?? Idea: GoFundMe is a place so many people turn to when fundraising for their gender confirmation surgeries. So given Jools' announcement, we wanted to offer her the chance to pay it forward. We rapidly coordinated with our agency, WORTHI, to pitch the idea and set up a game plan. Jools and her team LOVED it! ?? Yesterday, Jools posted her call to action on TikTok, asking followers to help a fellow diva fundraise for their gender-affirming care. Her audience jumped into action—not only donating, but leaving thousands of comments in support of Jools, her advocacy, and using her platform for good. In a follow-up video, Jools shared how proud she is to work with a brand like GoFundMe and use her voice to help others. In 24 hours, these two videos have collectively received over 70,000 likes. ?? TL;DR: Don't force your brand into every social media trend. When "Demure" first went viral, there wasn't a clear connection to GoFundMe. But when the right opportunity presented itself, we were able to connect the dots in a more meaningful, authentic way. That's how to effectively incorporate trends into your social media and influencer strategy. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gcGrVxkh

The recent Orange Blossom Classic marked PepsiCo’s first tour stop of our Taste of Tomorrow campaign, an initiative aimed at advancing STEM education for HBCU students. With only 9% of the STEM workforce represented by Black professionals, we recognize the need for action—and we’re stepping up. Through “Taste of Tomorrow,” we’re investing $350K directly to HBCUs and their students, including $250K in scholarships at 9 HBCUs in partnership with the PepsiCo Foundation and $100K in STEM-related funding for FAMU and Prairie View. But it doesn’t stop there—we’re also providing hands-on experiences in culinary innovation, showcasing the science behind the food and inspiring future leaders in food science and technology. This is just the beginning of our journey to create a more diverse and inclusive STEM landscape. VP, Marketing @ WORTHI | ????????? | Social + Creative Strategist | People Person

Had the absolute pleasure of joining Michael Kaye's PR & Marketing class at NYU as guest speaker yesterday! Got to share a bit about my career journey starting at VaynerMedia, moving to Westbrook and Twitter, to now leading the Marketing team at WORTHI. Some pieces of advice I shared with this next generation of marketers: ? Embrace the ever-evolving landscape: When I started working in the social media industry, we hadn't even been introduced to Vine or Snapchat yet. Now we're seeing the TikTokification of social while new AI technologies are being introduced by the day. Hands-on experiment with everything, because you never know how the space will evolve and generate new types of job opportunities later. ? Finding cool jobs is easier than finding a good manager: It's easy to romanticize that sexy logo or company that you think is your dream job, but being happy at a job comes to so many other factors, such as the culture and the people. Don't lead with the company, find a manager you're excited to work for. ??Build your network and create your own opportunities: From internships to early jobs, the industry becomes a smaller world the more you move forward in it. Be a good person and build relationships. Not all jobs will come from an cold application via a website.

Last week we partnered with our clients at Google to host a Made by Google Test Drive at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, offering an exhilarating blend of tech and thrill for press and creators. This high-energy event kicked off the start of our Made By Google roadshow series and welcomed top-tier journalists from outlets including ESSENCE, EBONY, Bossip, Atlanta Daily World, ZDNET, El Mundo, Telemundo Atlanta in addition to Atlanta based creators Joe Cirillo (@rillo), Qori B (@helloqori), Ian Bellinger (@tussalty), Evan Ranft (@evanranft) Nyla Symone (@nylasym0ne), Deshawn Crawford (@UVlifestyle) and Carly Thompson (@carlynotcardi). Upon arrival, attendees were greeted in Google’s dedicated suite and given hands-on access to the latest devices, including the Pixel 9/9 Pro/P Pro XL, Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Buds, Google TV Streamer, and Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen). In partnership with the Google Concierge team, we facilitated a classroom-style onboarding session for the Pixel 9 phones and Pixel Watch 3, giving attendees a white glove tutorial of the standout camera, video, health, productivity and AI features, including live demos of Gemini Live. After the onboarding session, press and creators were treated to an adrenaline-pumping experience on the Porsche driving track. Attendees had the chance to put the Pixel phones to the test while observing and participating in demonstration laps with trained Porsche drivers at the wheel. Pixel’s Magic Editor photo and video tools, Long Exposure, Panorama, and Real Tone features helped attendees capture thrilling moments and showcase the devices’ capabilities in action.

This evening Eddie Rizzo at WORTHI joined my class at New York University. While there are so many lessons Eddie shared that resonated, here are my favorite pieces of advice from him: ?? Your network is increasingly important as you move in your career ?? Finding cool jobs can be easier than finding a good manager ?? Don't be afraid to create your own opportunities ?? Be yourself Thankful for companies — especially Match Group and Ruder Finn — that have not only allowed me to create my own opportunities, but encouraged it. Who’s a good manager you’ve had? Or a company that’s helped you create your own opportunity? #CareerAdvice #Teaching
