The first Lady, Her Excellency Madam Monica Chakwera says Malawi is on the right track in achieving Zero Tuberculosis (TB) infection by 2030. The First Lady was speaking during the field visit at Nathenje Health Centre in Lilongwe. The first lady has commended the work volunteers and the development partners are doing in the fight against Tuberculosis in the country. With support from The Global Fund, World Vision Malawi partnered with Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) and PARADISO TB Patient Trust to continue delivering community TB care Interventions across the country. Together they will work with 5,000 community volunteers in Community Sputum Collection Points (CSCP) and 450 House-to-House (HH) volunteers. The CSCP approach relies on community members to seek TB services from community volunteers when asymptomatic. The Household approach requires the community volunteers to proactively visit every household to identify community members with TB infection through systematic screening efforts. This #WorldChildrensDay, we’re highlighting a critical foundation of children’s education: clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in schools, essential services for their health, well-being, and safe learning environments. Since 2018, World Vision’s WASH programs have reached more than 3.5 million children in nearly 8,800 schools across more than 40 countries with clean water. We are doing more than just providing WASH infrastructure. We’re championing behavior change, service quality, continuous learning, and equity, as well as safe, inclusive environments that support learning and growth. We also #ListenToTheFuture — the world’s children — through WASH clubs where we empower students to champion these important health practices among their peers. We invite you to partner with us to create healthier communities and brighter futures by helping vulnerable children and families worldwide gain access to essential WASH services. ?? Discover how our WASH programs are transforming school environments and empowering children globally. ‘Safe toilets for all by 2030’ is one of the targets of U.N. Sustainable Development Goal 6. But 3.5 billion people still live without a safe toilet. All over the world, sanitation is under threat from conflict, climate-related hazards, disasters, and neglect. Sanitation is a human right. It protects everyone’s dignity, and especially transforms the lives of women and girls. More investment and better governance of sanitation are critical for a fairer, more peaceful world. World Vision is committed to reaching everyone, everywhere we work with sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in pursuit of SDG 6. #WorldToiletDay #WaterandSanitation4All #SDG6

World Vision’s Network: World Vision works with over 3,000 partners across the country to ensure donated supplies reach millions of vulnerable children and their families in the U.S each year. Our last-mile network consist of schools, non-profits, churches and food banks who we rely on to be the boots on the ground and have relationships in their community. This recent distribution took place on the Westside of #Chicago where local community groups and leaders came out to serve their community and distribute truckloads of resources. World Vision USA

Today at #ASTMH2024, we were thrilled to share how we partner with The Pfizer Foundation to change the game in Uganda by equipping community members to go from health service users to active advocates who shape the quality and availability of care. In Uganda’s Bugiri district, our Citizen Voice and Action (CVA) approach is driving real improvements in healthcare access and quality. Through this implementation, funded by The Pfizer Foundation, community members have taken the lead, resulting in more healthcare staff, better facilities, and new blood transfusion services that weren’t previously available. By giving communities a voice, this social accountability model fosters trust between residents and health providers and inspires a collective commitment to better health. The impact goes beyond statistics. When communities actively engage with health services, they can hold the system accountable, driving change that lasts. At ASTMH, we’re sharing this innovative approach as a blueprint for future health programs; when people are heard, health outcomes clearly improve. Join us in learning how we’re making this vision a reality in Uganda and beyond. Learn more about our work at https://lnkd.in/eJN6V2te. #GlobalHealth #PublicHealth #SustainableImpact

Harnessing the power of data to drive change in the world’s most vulnerable communities! World Vision is proud to join forces with Meta and OCHA Centre for Humanitarian Data to bring advanced digital mapping to communities that need it most. This impact story highlights how geospatial mapping allows us to see where water services are lacking, to focus and track our efforts more effectively, ensuring clean water reaches even the most remote communities. Meta’s high-resolution dataset—co-developed with Columbia University and hosted by HDX—overlaid with World Vision's water point data in mWater, offers unparalleled insight into water access, and we’re committed to reaching everyone, everywhere we work with sustainable WASH services in line with SDG 6. Notably, through close collaboration with the Rwandan government, we achieved universal water coverage across 39 subdistricts, impacting over 1 million people. (Learn more about the project by visiting https://lnkd.in/gY5hSFpQ) ? ? This collaboration has set a precedent for innovative, data-powered approaches in the humanitarian landscape worldwide. Thank you to our partners for making this high-resolution data source widely and freely available. Together, we are empowering transformative changes in the WASH sector.
