We made a promise. We told the Minister of State of Rwanda that the World Shoe and WASH&WEAR program would help her fill the mandate for promoting hygiene for better health. Yesterday, in the Ngororero District 1000 elderly citizens received new shoes. AND, the Vice Mayor, Chairman of the District Counsel, representatives of Siera Community Church and the Move Up Global NGO all washed feet and spoke to everyone about the importance of hygiene, proper hygiene practice and shoe wearing. Their message was very clear and informative. It is the power of local leadership and the power of the World Shoe to create opportunities for improving lives. More than 50,000 and counting. We kept our promise! #WorldShoe #ZeroShoelessPeople #GlobalHealth

It was an honor to introduce WASH&WEAR to our dedicated team on the ground in Rwanda! With 60,000 pairs of #WorldShoes en route, this demonstration marked a pivotal moment—bringing together partners and showcasing the power of our holistic, co-created, and localized distribution model. Through WASH&WEAR, recipients receive more than just our prophylactic shoes; they gain access to a comprehensive healthcare experience that reinforces human dignity and fosters community building and reconciliation. As famously quoted, "To solve a problem, you must eliminate the #rootcause, not just fix the symptoms." By #empowering communities and local leaders with health interventions, education, and tools for disease prevention, we help ensure that communities are equipped to thrive. I’m excited to see the impact this program will have in Rwanda and beyond! #WASHandWEAR #FromTheGroundUp #Rwanda #SocialEnterprise

Such a great opportunity for the MBA Social Enterprise students of Berry College - Campbell School of Business to hear from World Shoe Fund’s Cameron Kays live from Bujumbura, Burundi. Her real time insights on the importance of proximity and commitment to co-creation were spot on. Also, how she emphasized the need to offer direction not dictation were great reminders that your end users most often times know best what they need! Thanks for leading transformational implementation, Cameron! #worldshoe #globalhealth #socialenterprise

What if a shoe could change the world? Manny Ohonme, president and co-founder of The World Shoe, knew there was an opportunity to confront a #publichealth crisis plaguing his home country of #Nigeria and much of the world. More than 600 million people worldwide do not have reliable access to footwear, exposing them to parasitic diseases and life-threatening infections. Manny sat down with Celia Jones, FINN’s Global CMO, to reveal how World Shoe has developed a novel solution to address this massive public health issue, while also providing economic development for underserved communities. The goal for Manny and World Shoe is ambitious, but simple: zero shoeless children in the world. Dive into the full Fast Company Q&A: https://lnkd.in/ggzWaaYa
