If you've joined us on a tour of our Paramount facility you know you get to see a lot of cool things. One of the coolest, by far, is the fuel burning demo where you can see the difference in how conventional jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel burn. For those of you who haven't been lucky enough to don the PPE and join us on a tour, here's a video that shows how SAF emits fewer particulates, making it better for our skies and our health!

Wondering why there is not more #SAF available? Building a SAF production plant, regardless of its technology pathway, requires investment in the billions of dollars - that's right, not millions, but billions. Finding ways to finance and drive investment into SAF production will mean the difference between meeting 2030 demand and decarbonization goals or missing the mark by a wide margin. World Economic Forum's Airports of Tomorrow Group, partnering with Kearney has detailed the financing levers - public, private and blended finance options - that can open up the flow of capital into this space. As players in the sustainable aviation industry wait to see what what will happen with the tax incentives that industry growth relies on, World Energy President, Scott Lewis, shares his thoughts on the opportunity for collaboration: "Each administration has its own agenda of what it is trying to achieve. It is industry's role in this to tell them how we can help achieve it." Beyond reducing emissions, SAF production provides opportunities for new agricultural markets and domestic energy supply. Cleaner, more responsible business travel was an important topic at this year's GreenBiz. Sustainable aviation fuel is the biggest lever for making that happen, now and in the future. Right now, SAF is approved at a 50/50 blend with conventional jet fuel, but the future of flight can be 100%, as Gulfstream proved last year with its historic transatlantic flight, powered by World Energy. Adam Klauber, World Energy VP Sustainability and Digital Supply Chains discussed the collaboration and more insights on a panel alongside Pratt & Whitney and Gulfstream Aerospace professionals: Brian Cook, Smitha Hariharan, and Graham Webb.

Green hydrogen is emerging as a game-changing solution for key industries. In addition to use in sectors like steel and iron, drop-in fuels based on green hydrogen could be used in aviation and maritime shipping with minimal adjustments to engines and other equipment. World Energy is proud to be working on innovative projects like World Energy GH2's Project Nujio’qonik, Canada’s first commercial green hydrogen facility, set to produce 280,000 tons annually.
