?? What a week at WorldBoston, as we kept up to date with TWO back-to-back powerhouse events! ?? First, last Thursday we hosted former U.S. Ambassador to Russia, John Sullivan, as he engaged with the WorldBoston community to provide a sharp analysis on his book "Midnight in Moscow" and the Russia-Ukraine war. Thank you to Ambassador Sullivan for lending his expertise and answering our guests' questions. To add on to the excitement, yesterday we kept the momentum going when we heard from Distinguished Professor of International Politics and Associate Dean of Research at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, Dr. Daniel Drezner, on the Great Decisions topic of "U.S. Changing Leadership in the World's Economy." Thank you Dr. Drezner for your insightful presentation and expert insights. Thank you to Foley & Lardner, the Boston Public Library, the GBH Forum Network, and the Lowell Institute for being our program partners, and thank you to all of those who attended these exhilarating events both in-person and virtually to keep such important discussion alive! ?? ??

Ahead of Mayor Michelle Wu's third annual State of the City Address tonight, we at WorldBoston want to kick off our Community Resource Spotlight series by recognizing the City of Boston Mayor’s Office for their engagement in citizen diplomacy. James Reginald Colimon, MBA, Deputy Director of Global Affairs and Protocol, has collaborated with WorldBoston over the years to coordinate meetings across departments and welcome international visitors on behalf of the Mayor. We love hearing how James welcomes each IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program) delegation with flags from the respective countries visitors are from! We’re excited to continue collaborating with the City of Boston and share more stories from our community resources.

Global Connections in Action! This past week, WorldBoston had the pleasure of hosting an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Multi-Regional Project on the topic of “Rule of Law and the U.S. Judicial System.” Our lovely delegation met with the Division of Administrative Law Appeals, the Boston Police Department, the Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project at the Center for Law and Equity at Northeastern University School of Law, State Representative Michael Day, Chairperson of the Massachusetts Joint Committee on the Judiciary at the Statehouse, and the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. The highlight of the trip was definitely when the group even received an exclusive inside tour of the Massachusetts Appeals Court from former Chief Justice Ireland! Thank you to everyone who helped welcome this delegation of 24 visitors from 24 countries, and for supporting our Citizen Diplomacy work!
