?Exciting News? Whiskey Magazines 100th inductee into the Hall of Fame! We are thrilled to announce the newest inductee into the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame, with John Cashman, from Powerscourt Distillery, presented as inductee number 100. ??Our 100th inductee: John Cashman is head of brand and new product development at Ireland’s Powerscourt Distillery. He began his 27-year whiskey career with Irish Distillers, through the company’s Jameson graduate scheme. In 2006, John joined Cooley Distillery as the country manager for Ireland, later becoming its global brand ambassador. Following the acquisition of Cooley by Beam Suntory (now known as Suntory Global Spirits), John led the Beam Suntory Irish whiskey global graduate scheme, mentoring more than 30 graduates throughout the programme, many of whom remain active in the global spirits industry to this day. John’s ambassadorial duties at Beam Suntory expanded to include Scotch, bourbon, and Canadian and Japanese whiskies, alongside his responsibilities for the Irish portfolio. Working closely with Cooley master distiller Noel Sweeney, John played a pivotal role in liquid development. In January 2022, John was appointed head of brand and new product development at Powerscourt Distillery, where he took charge of new product development and led a complete reimagination of the Fercullen portfolio, brand positioning, and future- proofing the product mix. John lives on his family farm outside Rathdrum in County Wicklow with his wife Lara and their three children, Layla, Johnny, and Tom. As vice chairman of Wicklow Naturally, the county’s food and drink network, John champions local producers and promotes the region’s rich heritage. He is also the former chair of the Irish Whiskey Association Trade and Promotions committee. John's achievements and passion are a testimony to a lifetime dedicated to whiskey. Congratulations to our newest Hall of Fame Inductee, Marlene Holmes ???? The American regional results of the Icons of Whisky Awards and World Whiskies Awards were announced this evening, at the World Whiskies Awards America 2025 dinner at the Brown Hotel, Louisville in Kentucky. The evening saw a new industry figure Marlene Holmes, from Milam & Greene, as inductee number 99 into the Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame. Kentucky-born whiskey powerhouse, Marlene Holmes, brought decades of distilling expertise and a trailblazing spirit to Milam & Greene Whiskey to help shape the brand into what is now a national treasure. Since arriving to help spearhead Milam & Greene with a small team just 6 years ago, the powerhouse brand has experienced extraordinary growth by doubling the size of its distillery twice and expanding into 19 states. Thanks to Holmes, numerous accolades such as “Best in Show Rye” awarded by the ACSA in 2021 and cover stories in major publications such as the New York Times quickly followed. By 2024, Marlene Holmes was named “Master Distiller of the Year” at the Women of Whiskey Awards, helping to put the brand – and Texas – firmly on the whiskey world map. This year, she’s being honoured with induction into the prestigious Whiskey Magazine Hall of Fame, solidifying her legacy as one of American whiskey's most influential and pioneering figures. ????Congratulations to Marlene!
